Health benefits of Jelly bush honey

Jelly Bush honey is a potent wound healer, dramatically accelerating healing time and can greatly reduce the risk of infection and scarring.  It works as a natural anti-fungal and anti-bacterial when applied topically to a wound as well as internally for many conditions such as ulcers and throat infections.  It is also very safe to use directly on burns, grazes and broken skin.

 ABOUT US:

WE LOVE WHOLEFOODS! Before Denise (the fantastic cook) and I (the fantastic eater), opened our store in Lismore, NSW, fresh affordable wholefoods were just not available to everyone. We had to change this. Taking a big step in 2008 we borrowed the money for our first store against the only thing we could, a heavily forested piece of land with a small shed in the beautiful Northern Rivers, our family home. A very scary thing to do but love will make you do almost anything. So our love for people and delicious wholesome food took over.[The Shed]The shed that started it all

We opened our first store in Lismore, the original bulk foods store in NSW, based completely on our life long philosophy of doing everything in a fair and ethical way. Treating the environment, the land, the farmers, the food as well as our staff, customers, friends, family and each other with sincere respect and generosity whilst having fun and laughter along the way is most important to us. We are them and they are us.

Trust is what has sustained us, and it is from this place that we strive to provide all our customers with the best quality wholefoods at the most affordable prices. Whether you are shopping with us in our Lismore store, the more recently opened Coffs Harbour store (2014) or online you can trust that your fresh food is handled with the utmost care, and friendly professional service.

ACTIVATED ALMONDS (INSECTICIDE FREE) 51.9$/kg

Marketplaceaffordablewholefoods posted the article • 0 comments • 278 views • 2019-07-01 15:13 • came from similar tags

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Using a long soak and slow dehydration method our activated almonds are locally made in Woodburn NSW using sustainably grown, insecticide free, Australian almonds from Belehris Estates in South Australia.

Activating almonds refers to soaking/sprouting raw almonds in salted, filtered water for 12 hours to begin the process of germination, encouraging an almonds digestive enzymes to be activated…ultimately awakening their life force.

These enzymes break down phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors therefore making almonds easier to digest and the nutrients more readily available for our bodies to absorb. Super yummy too!

Honeybee Wrap is a reusable beeswax wrap, an eco friendly alternative to plastic wrap and a fantastic food preserver. By using a reusable beeswax wrap you are helping to reduce the 8 million tons of plastic that enters our oceans each year!

Hello im sherrie owner and creator of Honeybee wrap.

HoneyBee Wrap originated in my family kitchen 5 years ago in the Northern Rivers near beautiful Byron Bay. Having a big family, with 5 children I was always looking for greener alternative to preserve our food fresh without the use of plastic. That is until I started making and using Honeybee wrap.

To this day you can still find our little studio in Mullumbimby! Our reusable wraps are  100% Australian made and manufactured.

In fact, our commitment to sustainability doesn't only stop at making an environmentally friendly alternative product but we give back to our community by employing locals and buying locally sourced ingredients. We also give away our by product fabric waste which is recycled. And each year we help a number of schools and community projects by fundraising their green activities. If you have a green idea we would love to hear from you!

WHAT'S IN OUR WRAP?

Our reusable food wrap are made with 100% organic cotton, natural Australian beeswax, organic coconut oil, tree resin and Australian jojoba oil.

One of the reason why our beeswax wrap are of the highest quality on the market is because we only use the best ingredients. Starting with 100% certified organic cotton (GOTS certified) with low impact dyes. This means that the cotton is grown without the use of chemical and pesticide.

Did you know that cotton is the most widely grown crops in the world, growing conventional cotton is also one of the most chemical-intensive?

Our reusable beeswax wraps are actually so green that when you are finished with them you can put them in your worm farm or compost bin!

ABOUT BEESWAX

Beeswax is a by product of honey extraction which would be otherwise a waste. All the beeswax we use is locally sourced and has been harvested in a sustainable way. We know this because we have a close relationship with all our beeswax suppliers..

A Permaculture internship on Christmas Island’s Hidden Garden Sustainable Farm is a one-of-a-kind experience. Much more than a Permaculture farm, Hidden Garden offers a unique opportunity to be part of a ground breaking project that is literally breathing the life back into the land – degraded and depleted after decades of mining. Set against the back-drop of one of the world’s most diverse ecologies, Christmas Island is surrounded by abundant marine life, unique eco-systems and pristine oceans.

Our six week practical Permaculture internships are for anyone interested in living a more sustainable self-reliant and resilient lifestyle as a productive citizen of our one and only planet. Study the principles of Permaculture and the art of more sustainable living with our qualified and passionate Hidden Garden team working together to realise the common goal of quality local food production, regardless of where you live. To promote and grow organic foods that are not only better for you but ‘cheaper’ because there is more food at a lesser environmental cost. Less food miles, less food storage and packaging, less toxic chemicals, less water, and less distribution cost! We’re a mix of part science, part technology and part heritage farming. We grow low input high yielding organic produce working alongside nature. We make use of local waste streams turning them into resources, aided by science and technology, to accelerate naturally occurring processes.

Description

This rust eraser removes rust from cast iron and steel. It is a semi-flexible rubber sanding block with 120 grit impregnated uniformly in the block. We find it very useful for removing superficial rust from our scythe blades on the odd occasion we forget to give them a light oiling after use . The block is a comfortable size to hold in your hand, being 80 mm x 50 mm x 20 mm. Unlike other sanding blocks, it retains its abrasive qualities until the block has been completely worn away – just like a pencil eraser.

Advanced Scythe Kit – Left Handed $358.29 inc. GST . Grass Blades / Totnes Valley, NSW

Marketplacehazelcombefarm posted the article • 0 comments • 301 views • 2019-06-29 14:40 • came from similar tags

Description

The Advanced Scythe Kit consists of the 70 cm grass blade, the snath of your choice, a copper stone sheath, the Mailander Gruene Drache whetstone, the Picard scythe anvil and Picard peening hammer.

This kit is well suited to someone who is experienced working with metal and feels confident they could peen a blade freehanded.

Blade Length

There is only one length of blades that are left handed. We therefore recommend that if you feel you could manage a right handed scythe, which by the way is still used with two hands, you would be better to choose a right handed one. You have a much broader selection of blade lengths for right handed scythes.

Snath Length

If you are shorter than about 160 cm (5 ft 3 in), choose the Short snathIf you are between 158 cm to 176 cm (5 ft 9 in) tall, choose the Standard snathIf you are between 176 cm and 188 cm (6 ft 2 in) tall, choose the Long snathIf you are between 188 cm to 200 cm (6 ft 7 in) tall, choose the Extra Long snath

Please note: If you don’t feel confident to tackle freehanded peening at this stage, the Starter Scythe Kit, left handed provides you with an easier way of sharpening your blade. If you feel you would prefer to get a right handed kit, see the Starter Scythe Kit or Advanced Scythe Kit.

Our seeds are the old traditional open pollinated non-hybrid varieties and have no chemical treatment, and no genetic engineering.

We know this because we have a close relationship with all our beeswax suppliers..

sustainable soil management (5 days) $1,200 + GST

The unprecedented global demand of modern agriculture is unsustainable. It depletes the soil and strips it of long-term nutrients. This course focuses on the relationship between the health of the soil and its ability to produce high quality, healthy food. We demystify the complex sciences of soil microbiology and plant nutrition to bring you a cutting edge system of sustainable soil management.

Hidden Garden’s Bio-Vital™ system for sustainable soil management redefines sustainable agriculture and Permaculture practices and teaches how to build soil fertility to improve production and reduce input cost. With our ‘Specialist Composting Made Easy’ method you’ll learn how to convert local resources and common waste products into high value, ‘smells good’ compost. You’ll gain hands-on experience making powerful organic, bio-fertilisers from commonly available materials for just a few cents per litre.

Topics include:

Compost made easy – the Bio-Vital™ approach
Making soil pro-biotic – a simple easy system for building soil fertility
Making bio-fertilisers – feed your plants and your soils – a cost-effective solution to increased production

You will leave this course with enough experience to be able to apply this new generation of organic management.
